Terms & Conditions

1. Purpose of Website

The New Pathway, LLC website is intended to provide general information about counseling services, specialties, scheduling, and educational resources. The content on this website is not a substitute for professional mental health treatment, medical advice, or legal advice.

Use of this website does not establish a therapist–client relationship.

2. No Therapeutic Relationship Established

A therapeutic relationship is formed only after:

  • Initial consultation (if applicable),
  • Completion of all required intake and consent forms, and
  • Formal acceptance into treatment by The New Pathway, LLC.

Submitting a contact form, sending an email, or leaving a voicemail does not constitute therapy or crisis support.

3. Not for Emergencies

This website and any communication through it are not monitored continuously and are not appropriate for emergencies.

If you are in crisis or danger:

  • Call 911, or
  • Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or
  • Go to the nearest emergency room.

4. Telehealth Services

If telehealth services are offered:

  • Sessions are conducted through secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms.
  • Clients must be physically located in a state where the therapist is licensed (including Maryland, as applicable) at the time of service.
  • Telehealth may not be appropriate for all clinical needs.
  • Technical issues beyond the therapist’s control may impact sessions.

5. Client Responsibilities

By using services through The New Pathway, LLC, clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information,
  • Attend scheduled sessions on time,
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality during telehealth sessions,
  • Communicate respectfully and appropriately.

Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in modification or termination of services.

6. Fees, Payments & Insurance

  • Fees are disclosed prior to the start of services.
  • Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Insurance reimbursement is not guaranteed; clients are responsible for verifying coverage.
  • Clients are responsible for all fees not covered by insurance, including deductibles and copayments.

7. Cancellation & No-Show Policy

Appointments must be canceled with at least 24 hours’ notice. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be charged. Insurance does not reimburse for missed appointments.

8. Court-Involved & Reunification Services

If court-involved services (including reunification therapy) are offered:

  • Services are therapeutic in nature and not forensic evaluations unless explicitly stated in writing.
  • The therapist does not serve as an advocate for either party.
  • Court involvement may require limited disclosures as required by law or court order.

Additional agreements may be required for these services.

9. Confidentiality & Privacy

All client information is handled in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, including HIPAA. Please review the Privacy Policy for detailed information on how personal and protected health information is collected, used, and safeguarded.

10. Intellectual Property

All website content—including text, logos, graphics, documents, and branding—is the property of The New Pathway, LLC and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without prior written consent.

11. Third-Party Links

This website may contain links to third-party websites for informational purposes. The New Pathway, LLC is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party sites.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The New Pathway, LLC is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of this website or reliance on its content.

13. Modifications to Terms

The New Pathway, LLC reserves the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of any changes.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
